The Story of Lifedoer

Dreams Begin
It all started on a snowy day in the humble Chenfu Town Middle School. As a 13-year-old, my world was confined to the rolling hills, steamed buns, and the thick porcelain kiln smoke that curled into the crisp winter air. I was nestled in this secluded corner of the world, where my understanding of the globe was drawn from the world map in my geography textbook, and my perceptions of foreigners were shaped by illustrations in my English books. In that small classroom, a novel dream took root within me: I wanted to share the porcelain crafted in my hometown with the entire world when I grew up. But at that tender age, I had no concept of the path that lay ahead or the sacrifices that would be required to make my dream a reality. My family and friends were firmly rooted in this yellow land, and no one could guide me. My vision was limited, and my knowledge was scant, but fate intervened. On that ordinary day, in an unexpected moment, that dream etched itself deeply into my heart.
Starting to Dream

Years passed, and I ventured far from my homeland after graduating from university. The yellow earth that had nurtured me was left behind as I embarked on a journey to the south. Serendipity led me into the realm of foreign trade, where I spent a decade honing my skills and knowledge. As middle age beckoned, I returned to my hometown with my wife and daughter, standing atop a hill in the ancient town of Chenfu. It was then, as I gazed at the familiar landscape, that my childhood dream resurfaced, and my eyes welled with tears.

A mysterious force seemed to beckon me—a call from my homeland, a call from my youthful, simple, and fearless dreams. This was the wild call that stirred my soul. In that moment, in that place, within this aging body, I rekindled my dream. I yearned to make the art of our hometown’s porcelain known and cherished across distant lands.

Practising the Dream

Back in my hometown, I delved deep into the intricacies of porcelain—its various types, crafting techniques, raw materials, production methods, market dynamics, and pricing strategies. I discovered that our hometown’s porcelain primarily found its way to local markets through traditional channels, following age-old business models, and adhering to domestic aesthetics.

But I was armed with a wealth of foreign trade knowledge and a burning desire to introduce our hometown’s porcelain to the world. I recognized the need to bridge the gap between my newfound expertise and the traditional ways of the porcelain industry. It was at this pivotal juncture that I founded Lifedoer Company.

I understood that the path ahead would be challenging, filled with unknown territories and uncharted waters. But armed with my knowledge and unwavering determination, I embarked on this journey with a single purpose—to transform our beloved hometown porcelain into a global sensation, fusing the wisdom of the past with the opportunities of the future. And so, the Lifedoer journey began, breathing life into the dreams of a young boy who aspired to share the treasures of his homeland with the world.
